Too much work?  I do use mine occasionally, but I've never been able to 
even make a dent in fenugreek.  It is much more rewarding though.

Also, Sylvia's idea for making ricotta sounds wonderful.  It's basically 
the same recipe I've tried for making paneer, without the pressing step.  
I'm looking forward to trying it, since ff ricotta is so expensive and 
gummy.
