Replacing Eggs in Lentil-Rice Burgers

Karen,
This is just a guess, since I haven't yet tried to make my own
burgers since starting to eat vegan/McDougall, but I wonder if mixing quick
or instant oats with boiling water wouldn't make a good egg substitute. It
gets so gooey in my bowl that I've switched completely to old-fashioned or
steel-cut oats to avoid the slimeyness. If anyone else has tried this--or
is better about the hands-on aspect of cooking, as opposed to my more
theoretical approach ;-P --please let us know how it worked. It sounds
do-able to me.
