I looked up dates in my "Corine T Netzer Encyclopedia of Food Values"
and found different numbers for different kinds and brands of dates, but a
generalization/approximation would be:
1oz dates (approx 5 dried and pitted)
is about 110 calories, 0.3g fat, 1g protein and about 2 g of fiber
they also have traces of Vit A, niacin, and folic acid
