Sammie: I too hate to pay full price for anything. I have a whole collection of cookbooks, including McDougall's (4 different ones), Ornish, etc. that I have found in library sales, thrift stores, garage sales, used book stores. They are out there for a pittance. You just have to look.
Don't forget eBay. I have purchased many, many veg cookbooks there for a fraction of their original cost. And, I have been able to get copies of classics that have been out of print for years!
