This is from the North American Vegetarian Society via 
and my family (who hate tofu) really enjoy these vegan burgers.

I lb. firm lite tofu, shredded
1 c. quick oats
1/2 c. wheat germ (I use fresh)
1 onion, finely minced
2 T. onion powder
2 T. soy sauce
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. basil
1/2 t. oregano
1/2 t. garlic powder
1/8 t. black pepper
Oil or non-stick coating for frying.

Mix all ingredients, then knead for a few minutes. Shape into 6 patties, 
then bake on prepared sheet for 25 minutes at 325 degrees.

We like them with b-b-q sauce or sour cream-type topping.
