Re: fat-free cheese

Clarification of my post this week: The ingredients I discussed are only an
example of one ff cheese. They are in Healthy Choice shredded cheddar, not
necessarily in other types or brands. Also, I mentioned only the unusual
ingredients; both HC and Kraft have milk and lots of calcium.

The Healthy Choice mozzarella sticks do not have the cheddar's artificial
coloring, sorbic acid or microcrystalline cellulose. They do have the
hydrolyzed oat and corn flour, plus "natural flavors."

The Kraft shredded cheddar's non-cheese ingredients are only yeast,
artificial color, artificial flavor and cellulose gel. Tastewise, to me Kraft
is the better cheddar. But their shredded mozzarella takes the prize with its
long list of additives.

Thanks for causing me to take a closer look at what is in ff cheeses. Maybe I
will end up going back to Lifetime/Trader Joe's cheddar and mozzarella.
