This is for the 1 lb loaf.
This brought my neighbor over for a visit--she followed the smell.
CARROT GINGER LOAF
1 teaspoon dry yeast
1 3/4 cups bread or all purpose flour
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
2 tablespoon dry milk powder
1 teaspoon apple butter or jelly
(or substitue 1/2 cup fresh fine grated apple)
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons minced dried figs, or prunes
(pour boiling water over to soften, drain well)
1/3 cup grated carrots
3/4 cup water (or omit milk powder and add equal amount milk)
Substitutions: I sub'd apricots for the prunes
Add all ingredients in the order suggested by your machine
manufactuer. Process on Basic Bread Cycle.
