I have used the Dixie Dinner brand TVP strips and the chunks as well as
whatever my HFS carries and for some reason I end up with something that has
the consistency of one of those old yellow 'cello' kitchen sponges.
I have tried hydrating it with veggie bouillon a day or more ahead of time
to give them some flavor but still end up with the consistency of a sponge.
What am I doing wrong?
