I have one of those bowls. Its plastic and has a small pouch in the bottom
where you pour the popcorn. Its lid has slots to vent the steam. You set it
on high for about 2 3/4 minutes (on my 700 watt microwave) and just watch
it to prevent burning. You could probably use a glass bowl with some sort
of slotted lid to keep the popcorn in. When I tried to use another regular
plastic bowl, the hot kernels burned pits into the bottom.
