Eating fatfree in Italy can be very difficult.  The main culprit is olive
oil(and lots of it).  Artichokes to zucchini, it has olive oil.  Your best
bets are pasta(any type)normale senza olio(pasta with tomato sauce/no oil).
They will look at you funny.  Also riso salad(cold rice salad usually with
fresh vegetables)comes to mind.  Even that you may have to order "senza
olio, senza carne e polo"(meat and chicken), depending where you are.
If in Sicily, definitely tell them.
