chickpea and basil spread for party

Here's a recipe for a spread that's great on crackers, or as a veggie dip:

3 cups chickpeas (approx 2 cans, drained)
1/2 cup fresh basil
1 clove garlic, coursely chopped
1/4 teaspoon salt
ground pepper to taste
3/4 to 1 cup water

Put ingredients in blender, using 3/4 water.  Blend, adding more water as needed.
